Changes in this version

This is the current edition of Approved Document 7 - Materials and workmanship.

There are no new technical requirements.

This edition has been updated to reflect the full implementation of European Regulation 305/2011/EU-CPR covering construction products, referred to as the Construction Products Regulation, from 1 July 2013. This Regulation requires that products covered by a harmonised European product standard of conforming to a European Technical Assessment should normally have CE marking.

This Approved Document gives guidance for compliance with the Building Regulations for building work carried out in England. It also applies to building work carried out on excepted energy buildings in Wales as defined in the Welsh Ministers (Transfer of Functions) (No. 2) Order 20094.
