Introduction

There are a number of issues in addition to those directly connected to the planning and building control regimes that you should consider before starting work.

Even if your development does not require planning permission, it may be liable to pay the Community Infrastructure Levy.

Despite your work being granted planning permission (or being covered by permitted development rights) and complying with building regulations you may also still require additional permissions for your proposals.
